about

Overflowing with talent and musicality: I don’t know how else to describe the guest artists we had the joy of working with while making our new record. Not just one or two, but EIGHT guest musicians contributed to this project. Each of them brought their unique experience and skills - and each of them brought something to the table that we don’t have ourselves.

On this single, guest saxophonist Ricardo Pascal reveals his fluency in bebop vocabulary, a color palette rare for us in our usual bent toward traditional jazz. Pay special attention to the bridge of his solo, where he launches into an Armstrong phrase followed by a cascade of bebop arpeggios and phrases that teasingly dance us from distant harmonic lands back to the original key.
